The popular defender joined in July 2021 where he has enjoyed two strong campaigns at the heart of the Alport defence earning a glowing reputation both internally with everyone at WAFC and from opposition on a weekly basis.

Naturally this has gained large interest in the defender with numerous lucrative offers from other Clubs but manager Luke Goddard has acted swiftly in persuading "Ezz" to commit to the project with the Reds for the new season ahead!

Simms had this to say "I`m very happy to be staying and signing for another season with Alport. This will be my third year here and I really enjoyed my football yet again last season along with the success we managed to have.

Hopefully we can challenge even further this campaign and have a real go with the squad that I feel is the right mix of experiences and abilities for the league that the gaffer is putting together. Its certainly going to be exciting again and I`m sure by many of us showing our loyalty to the football club will prove how much this is a special place to play our football and we are grateful for the continued support off everyone. I cant wait to be back for pre season!"

Manager Luke Goddard "We`re not a Club for making too much noise each summer and getting involved in the usual merry go round. With the interest in Ezz it was vital we got this one over the line as he for me is the best centre half in the division and a vital part of our project if we are to achieve more success. Clubs go searching for new players as expected each summer but often the solutions are already in your camp and signing someone of Aaron Simms calibre back on for 12 months is like a new signing in itself and shows the Club proudly supports its players and together their is a trust and loyalty that is few and far between in the modern game.

I know my thoughts will be echoed by the Red Army and we will all look forward to having Ezz aat the heart of the Reds defence again next campaign as we look to build for an exciting season on all fronts"

Simms has penned a one year deal until next summer becoming the first announced signing of the new season. Keep a look out over the coming weeks as we prepare to announce many more signings when we feel right aswell as upcoming fixtures to look forward too.
