MOLDOVAN MESSI MAKES MOVE TO THE DABBERS

MOLDOVAN MESSI MAKES MOVE TO THE DABBERS

Alport Media5 Oct 2022 - 12:07

Attacker Ivan Urvantev dual signs with Nantwich Town

The Club can confirm attacking midfielder Ivan Urvantev has dual signed with neighbours Nantwich Town following mutual conversations with the player and management team.

Urvantev, 25 years old has been around the Club for the past three years but didn't join officially until last summer when he moved permanently to England. Known as the Moldovan Messi by the Red Army the talented player will hopefully gain an opportunity higher up the pyramid which is what his ambitions were when moving to England.

Manager Luke Goddard "Myself and Ess have known Ivan for a number of years now and it was always our intention to help him in the game. Of course last year we kept him at Alport and he played a big part in our historic FA Vase run. This season so far its been a tough year for him, with working away through August & finding himself battling for a space in what is a competitive squad in midfield. A real eye opener for him to non league football & the semi pro game with working also.

The Midlands League is a very difficult, physical league, the facilities are challenging & I do feel Ivan will most probably have a better chance impressing a couple of levels up where his technical side can be shown. We are continuously monitoring our squad when winning, when losing and we have to play the league we are in and its possible we need to make a few adjustments even further with a number of players who may naturally not suit. But as always as a coach and manager I want the best for these players too, so we contacted Nantwich Town who are happy to take Ivan in with an opportunity.

On a personal note I wish him all the best and its a dual registration so he can still play for Alport also. Ive helped Ivan with house moves & other things away from the football field along with Ess so we hope that will be appreciated & he can kick on further"

A further squad and injury update from the first team will follow later in the week.
