Whitchurch Alport Football Club is pleased to confirm its updated staffing structure ahead of the 2025/26 season, as part of our ongoing commitment to progress both on and off the pitch.
We’re delighted to welcome back Jayson Starkey, who will take up a permanent position as Assistant Manager, working closely alongside First Team Manager Adam Shillcock. Jayson brings invaluable experience, passion, and a deep understanding of the club’s values developed over the past few years, making him a key member of our leadership team moving forward.
Seydou Bamba will continue in his role as First Team Coach, building on the excellent work that has contributed to our evolving playing style and development structure.Seydou will also be supported by Martyn Davies (Slap) when needed bringing vital experience to the group.
We are also proud to announce Sam Cartwright as our new Head of Development. Sam will oversee the vital player pathway from junior level through to our U18 and U23 squads, ensuring a clear and supportive route into the first team for our emerging talent.
Our outstanding backroom team remains strong. Cara Lindsay has committed for another year as Sports Rehabilitator, providing vital support in player welfare and injury management. Tom Evans also continues in his role as Team Analyst, delivering crucial insights that inform our match preparation and performance review.
Andrew Steele takes on a new position as Head of Recruitment, where he will lead the development of a fresh scouting and player identification framework, supported by Darren Hignett.
In addition, the club is actively seeking to appoint a new Head of Goalkeeping, with an announcement expected in the coming week.
As we look ahead, we also take this opportunity to thank those departing the club: Ciaran Millington, Andy Jackson, Callum Bradke, and Steve Garnett. Each has contributed with great dedication to the Alport cause, and we offer our sincere gratitude for their service during the 2024/25 season.
Our 1946 team will also evolve for the 2025/26 season. They will again be led by Matt Owen, supported by Alex Cadman and Richard Revins, as they prepare for life in the Salop Premier Division.
Our new U18 team will make its debut in the Midland Junior Premier League, marking the club’s first venture into this competition. They will also compete in the FA Youth Cup for the first time — another exciting milestone. The team will be jointly led by Jack Grace and Teddy Munroe, who are seeking additional support staff. With this refreshed structure in place, we are confident in our direction as we prepare for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in the new season.
