The Reds completed their pre season fixtures ahead of the upcoming season with a 4-2 victory over a Kidderminster Harriers XI at the KMJ Mortgages Stadium
It wasn’t the start expected from the Reds, falling behind with less than 60 seconds into the game after Elliot Hall failed to clear a clearance and the ball rebounded off the Harriers forward and into an unguarded net. Worse was to come for the Reds on 20 minutes when the visitors doubled their lead. This galvanised the Reds into action with Jordan Evans twice going close with free kicks, and then Dennis Nielsen hitting the post from a header. On 40 minutes the Reds clawed back into the game with Joe Flory netting after the ball was like a pinball in the penalty area
Going into the second half, the Reds upped their game and dominated the play. It wasn’t long until the equaliser came, courtesy of a Josh Jones header from a Jordan Evans header on 52 minutes. Jordan was a constant thorn in the Harriers sides, twice going close with long range efforts. Jordan would get what he deserved on 80 minutes by putting the Reds ahead after good work from brother Kieran. Minutes later Kieran would get on the scoresheet after good solo work to drill his effort past the helpless keeper.
Today was a good workout for the squad ahead of next week’s FA Cup home fixture against NWCL side Vauxhall Motors at the KMJ next Saturday
