A look ahead to our first pre season fixture

The pre season schedule begins tomorrow afternoon as Luke Goddard`s squad make the trip to Conwy Borough FC.

Our Cymru Alliance opponents play at the Y Morfa Stadium and finished 9th last season in the Cymru North Division. The League was won by Airbus who gained promotion back to the Welsh Premier League.

Their manager Stu Howson took over towards the end of the last campaign and has so far re-signed a number of their existing squad and similar to our previous visits Y Morfa this will provide Alport with a great first test to kick start pre season.

Onto our own squad and the gaffer will take a squad of twenty for this first fixture before we welcome Chester FC to the KMJ Mortgages Stadium on Tuesday 5th July (19.45pm). We will be missing the likes of Jack Griffiths, George Carpenter, Dan Skelton, Joe Minshall aswell as new signing Joe Care who all are currently on holiday but this will be a first chance to see many of the new signings along with the existing players and a number of potential new signings who have been training with the squad.

Manager Luke Goddard “Really excited to getting going into the games programme as of tomorrow, we`ve had a great opening six sessions together and the buy in from the group has been superb. Its a strong group we have built with the mentality change we wanted from the end of last season. As expected it will take time to get into full gear and we will be working predominantly off the ball in the opening pre season games on our organisation. I hope the Red Army will make the journey tomorrow to support and the upcoming exciting home fixtures, you won’t be disappointed in what we are creating and together we can build something great again for 2022/23”
