During this evening’s AGM, a vote from our Committee members was held regarding a potential merger between Whitchurch Alport Juniors and Whitchurch Alport FC, days after the Juniors held an EGM where they had a 96.5% yes vote for the merger.

Of the 25 committee members eligible to vote this evening, with 2 non attendees, 23 voted in favour of the merger. A 92% yes vote.

The merger will result in a new structure of Whitchurch Alport FC, involving the creation of a Community Investment Company to oversee the business side of the football club, to raise funds to then invest in the football side of the club at all levels.

This will therefore result in greater sustainability for the football club, whilst allowing the club to grow further and progress at all levels. The change of structure is also an important step towards the football club securing funding for a 3G training facility at the football club.

The club would like to thank all of those who have contributed to making the merger happen, and we look forward to a future as part of the fantastic organisation which is Whitchurch Alport FC.
